Lottie - Dental Assistant
Lottie is a dental assistant at our office who graduated from Springboard Dental Institute as Valedictorian in 2022. She has a warm, friendly, and gentle personality, which makes it easier for patients to relax and be comfortable during their visit. Outside of work, she volunteers at her church, where she also sings in the choir. Lottie loves spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies are DIY projects along with arts and crafts such as sewing and painting.
Jamie - Registered/Dental Hygienist
Jamie graduated with her hygiene degree from Prairie State College in 2009. Her husband and three athletic and talented kids keep her busy with various middle and high school activities. The family loves to travel in their RV to their lake house and all over the country. Jamie's family loves their animals. The dogs, chickens, ducks, cat and snake all seem to get along! Jamie’s favorite TV show is “Supernatural.”
Andrea - Dental Assistant
Andrea graduated from the Springboard Dental Institute with a Certification in Dental Assisting. On her free time, she likes to spend time with family, find different cuisine experiences in restaurants all around the Chicagoland area and work out at the gym. Her favorite television show is “Hell’s Kitchen.”
Nela Doctor - Dental Assistant
Nela is a dental assistant at JCD Dental Associates and a nurse at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, IL. Nela is the wife of Dr. Joe and mother of Dr. Jonelle, Lizah, and Julie. Nela has been an assistant to Dr. Joe since the beginning of his career in 1988. Nela is also from Windsor, Ontario, Canada and attended the University of Windsor. In her spare time, Nela likes to go biking and play tennis.
Dr. Jonelle Doctor-Urgena, D.D.S.
Dr. Jonelle Doctor-Urgena grew up in the Chicago Southwest suburbs. She attended the University of Michigan for her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2012. Dr. Jonelle completed her D.D.S. degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2016. Dr. Jonelle enjoys treating patients of all ages. She loves to volunteer and her goal is to participate in dental mission trips abroad.

Dr. Julianne Doctor, D.M.D.
Dr. Julie is Dr. Joe's youngest daughter! She joined the office in August 2023. She attended the University of Michigan where she obtained her Bachelor of Science, then, Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where she worked with patients of all ages and engaged with the local community. About Us
Dr. Shawn Thomas, D.D.S. - Periodontist
Dr. Thomas attended Loyola University Chicago before earning his dental degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry where he graduated with high honors. He then completed a three-year residency in periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Thomas is highly trained in both surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy, as well as implant therapy. Such procedures include gingival grafting, crown elongation, osseous/pocket reduction surgery, bone grafting, ridge augmentation, sinus augmentation, All-On-X dental implants, and more.
When he isn’t spending time with family, Dr. Thomas enjoys to cook and try new recipes. You’ll often find him in the kitchen, but he also likes to try new restaurants, travel to new cities across the world, and stay active by playing football, volleyball, and kickball.

Julianne Doctor DMD, Jonelle Doctor-Urgena DDS & Josef Doctor DDS
Dr. Josef C. Doctor, D.D.S.
Dr. Josef Doctor is originally from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the University of Windsor in 1983 with his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then came to the U.S. and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1987. Dr. Joe has been in the Chicago area since 1987. In 1995, he opened his own practice in Mokena. He then moved to the current office in 2007. In his spare time, Dr. Joe enjoys playing tennis.
